In 1925, seven boats took part in the inaugural Fastnet Race. In 1979, 303 boats started the race but within hours winds had reached force 10. 24 Yachts were abandoned. 15 sailors lost their lives. On the 30th anniversary of the Fastnet tragedy Graham Bell joins Alex Thomson's Hugo Boss crew to race in Fastnet 2009. Graham has never sailed before.

This unique documentary features archive footage from 1979 and exclusive interviews with Alex’s rival-turned-friend, Mike Golding, and a survivor from the tragedy of 1979, Matthew Sheahan; plus Graham’s own video-diaries, livestreams and race footage from cameras aboard the Hugo Boss yacht.
